Game of Life

Game of Life is an outer-totalistic cellular automaton played on a 2D grid, created by John Conway in 1970. Cells evolve through generations based on their 8 immediate neighbors using simple rules of birth, survival, and overpopulation, producing complex, emergent behaviors like gliders and oscillators.

Elementary Cellular Automata

An Elementary Cellular Automaton is a 1D grid of binary cells that evolves over time based on its immediate neighbors. Using one of 256 simple rules, it can generate surprisingly complex, fractal, or chaotic patterns.

Wireworld

Wireworld is a cellular automaton created by Brian Silverman in 1987 to simulate electronic circuits. Using four cell states (empty, electron head, electron tail, and conductor), it easily models logic gates, transistors, and digital architecture.

Entombed

Entombed is a classic 1982 Atari 2600 game famous for its legendary procedural maze-generation algorithm. Operating under extreme hardware limits, the game uses a Mystery Table lookup to generate complex, playable vertical labyrinths on the fly.

Langton's Ant

Langton's Ant is a cellular automaton created by Chris Langton in 1986 that simulates an ant moving on a grid. Following simple local rules based on cell colors, it builds chaotic paths for about 10,000 steps before spontaneously constructing a repetitive "highway" starting at cycle 9,977.

Glider Lab v

Welcome to Glider Lab, a digital playground born out of pure curiosity, a love for clean code, and a fascination with the elegant complexity of cellular automata.

Created as a personal open-source project by Vinícius Reif Biavatti (vinibiavatti1), Glider Lab is an exploration of how simple, local rules can give rise to mesmerizing, unpredictable, and life-like emergent behaviors. Whether you're experimenting with timeless chaos, designing logic circuits, or discovering hidden patterns across different grid universes, this project is designed to bring these mathematical simulations to life right in your browser.
